Questions worth asking upfront.
Is Validors affiliated with Google or the Chrome Web Store?+
No. Validors is an independent, third-party tool. It reads the same public listing data any visitor can see and checks it against Chrome's published developer program policies.
Will fixing these findings guarantee better ranking or approval?+
No, and we won't claim it does. Every finding is labeled confirmed policy, correlated (unofficial), or best practice (unproven), so you can tell the difference between a real Chrome rule and an educated guess.
How is this different from other Chrome extension SEO tools?+
Most tools present every recommendation as equally certain. Validors doesn't - it tells you how confident it actually is in each finding, sourced from Chrome's own developer documentation where possible.
Can I audit an extension I don't own, like a competitor's?+
Yes - Validors only reads public listing data, the same as any visitor. Growth plan and above also includes benchmarking your score against other listings in the same category.
What happens to the data you collect?+
Full detail is in our privacy policy - in short, we store your audit history and, if you opt in, track a listing's score and installs weekly. We never read the Chrome Web Store's private developer registrant data.
